Feeling overwhelmed and need someone to talk to away from family and friends? Somewhere calm, where you feel you can talk openly and honestly without fear of judgement?
As a qualified Integrative Counsellor I am trained to help you navigate difficult thoughts, feelings and behaviours, leading to a deeper understanding of yourself and your needs. Whether you are feeling stressed, hopeless, unworthy, angry, stuck or lonely, together we can work to put you back in control and stop your past and present wrecking your future.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety and depression, struggling with life events, family and workplace issues. Having a previous career myself, within a large media related industry, I have a good understanding of the pressures clients experience in the modern workplace. Especially when combined with other demands such as bringing up a family, health issues or looking after elderly relatives. As well as working in private practice, I have extensive experience volunteering locally for the UK's leading mental health charity.
I incorporate person centred, psychodynamic and other approaches to create personalised treatment plans. We’ll build a bond based on trust, respect and warmth and explore unconscious patterns that might be holding you back. We’ll also develop strategies, insights and goals to help you regain control of your life.
No matter how insurmountable things may feel, therapy can equip you with the awareness, confidence and tools to create a more fulfilling life.
I offer weekly 50 minutes counselling sessions tailored to your needs.
In the first session we will begin to explore what you want from therapy and how things have been for you. I will answer all your questions about the therapeutic process and I will discuss with you the ethical and professional framework in which we will undertake our work together. This framework is designed to protect your wellbeing, safety and privacy. I am a member of the BACP and am signed up to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions (www.BACP.co.uk).
The length of therapy depends on many factors, which we would fully explore and regularly review to help you make the right decisions for you.
I understand it can be difficult to take the first steps toward counselling. Therefore, to help you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you I offer a free consultation, either on the phone or in person, where we can have a warm, relaxed chat about my services and your needs. Just call or email to make an appointment.
I practice in Herne Hill, SE24 and online via a range of platforms. Fees vary from £45 - £60 depending on appointment time. Concessionary rates for low waged or students available.
I understand contacting a counsellor can be daunting but please be assured my primary concern during our initial contact is that you find the right way forward for you. To this end I offer a free consultation to help you decide whether you would like to go ahead.
